Description

The SP05108-45-L alpine anemometer is the ideal solution for measuring wind-related parameters.
It is specifically designed to prevent ice build-up. This allows the sensor to withstand harsh Alpine conditions. It is a rigid thermoplastic instrument with stainless steel and aluminum fittings.
The bearings of this anemometer are made of ceramic, thus extending the life of the sensor.
The design is based on a four-blade propeller. Rotation of the propeller produces a sine wave of alternating current having a frequency proportional to the wind speed.
This signal is induced in a coil through a six-pole magnet mounted on the propeller shaft. The coil is in the central part that does not rotate, without the need to incorporate slip rings and brushes.
Instead, the wind direction is detected by the orientation of the sensor body which is connected to an internal positioning.
The data logger applies an excitation voltage to the potentiometer. The output is an analog voltage signal proportional to the wind input angle.
The anemometer is fully compatible with the Smartyplanet web platform so data can be analyzed instantly.
